Let’s Build the Next Generation of Magnetic Microsystems
Whether you’re developing advanced MEMS devices, magnetic sensors or quantum technologies, MagnetFab can help transform new ideas into manufacturable solutions. Contact MagnetFab to start the conversation with our micromagnet experts.
Engineers, product managers, researchers and innovation teams who want to integrate permanent magnets into MEMS devices, magnetic sensors, medical systems or quantum components, and who face size, performance or assembly constraints with conventional magnets.
Based in Grenoble, France – at the heart of one of Europe’s leading micro- and nanotechnology ecosystems.
When you contact MagnetFab, our team reviews every request carefully and usually answers within two business days.
Fill in the form below to contact MagnetFab: every request is recorded securely and forwarded to our business and partnerships team.
01
Describe your device, the targeted application – MEMS loudspeakers, magnetic sensors, medtech or quantum technologies – and your constraints in terms of size, magnetic performance and integration. Drawings, specifications or simple sketches are all welcome at this stage.
02
A MagnetFab engineer analyses your needs and discusses the best way to integrate permanent magnets directly at wafer level with semiconductor-compatible processes, including materials, patterning and the compatibility with your existing MEMS flow.
03
We define together a custom wafer-level prototyping plan, with clear milestones, from first samples and characterisation to a scalable, manufacturable solution for your production volumes.
Integrating magnets into microsystems has long been a challenge: as electronics continue to shrink, permanent magnets have become one of the last components that cannot be manufactured using semiconductor processes. MagnetFab removes this obstacle and helps companies turn new ideas into manufacturable solutions.
MagnetFab manufactures permanent micromagnets directly at wafer level, using thin-film deposition and lithographic patterning, the same manufacturing principles used by the semiconductor industry. For your project, this means magnets that are defined with the precision of a lithography step, integrated in the same flow as your other microstructures and produced in a repeatable way, instead of being picked, placed and glued one by one.
Our micromagnets are made from NdFeB, the rare-earth material used in the world’s strongest permanent magnets. Deposited and patterned at microscopic dimensions, it keeps an exceptional magnetic performance. This combination opens new possibilities for compact actuators, magnetic sensors and microsystems where every cubic millimetre counts.
Earbuds are among the most highly integrated consumer electronic devices, and the loudspeaker is one of their largest components. Our magnetic MEMS loudspeaker is 5X smaller and frees 80% of the loudspeaker volume. This first application shows what wafer-level permanent micromagnets can enable in your own products.
When you contact MagnetFab, you talk directly with engineers who understand both magnetism and MEMS processes. We help you assess feasibility, define specifications, produce custom prototypes and prepare the path towards manufacturable, scalable solutions, while keeping your project information confidential.
We provide custom wafer-level permanent micromagnet prototyping services for companies exploring integrated micromagnets in MEMS, sensing and quantum applications.

A typical collaboration starts with a feasibility study based on your specifications, followed by the design of the magnet layout and of the magnetisation strategy. Test structures and first prototypes are then produced on wafers and characterised, so that you can validate magnetic performance, dimensions and compatibility with the rest of your device before any decision on volume production. Throughout the project, you keep a single technical contact who follows your request, shares progress reports and adapts the plan to your results.
This approach is designed for research and development teams who need to move quickly from an idea to a working demonstrator, as well as for industrial companies preparing new product generations. It reduces the number of assembly steps, frees space inside compact devices and makes magnetic functions part of a scalable, semiconductor-compatible manufacturing flow.
The easiest way to contact MagnetFab is to use the form on this page or to write to contact@magnetfab.com. Every message sent through the form is saved and handled by our business & partnerships team.
Tell us about your application, the size and magnetic performance you target, your expected volumes and your timeline. You can also mention if you already work with a MEMS foundry.
Yes. MagnetFab supports start-ups, research laboratories and industrial companies exploring integrated magnets in MEMS, sensing, medtech and quantum technologies, whatever the maturity of their project.
As early as possible in your design phase. Integrating permanent magnets at wafer level changes the architecture of a device, so an early exchange helps you free space, reduce assembly steps and choose the right magnetic configuration.
Meetings can be organised in Grenoble, France, or remotely by video call. Grenoble is home to a dense ecosystem of semiconductor, MEMS and microelectronics players, which makes technical exchanges and joint developments easier for our partners.
Every project is different: the price depends on the magnet geometry, the magnetic performance required, the number of wafers and the level of characterisation needed. After a first technical exchange, we send you a tailored proposal with a clear scope and schedule.
To prepare an accurate proposal, we usually need the targeted application, the dimensions and geometry of the magnets, the required magnetic field, the substrate and process constraints, the expected number of wafers and your timeline. If some data is not available yet, our engineers help you define realistic specifications during the first technical exchange.
No. Our magnetic MEMS loudspeaker for earbuds is the first showcase of the technology, but wafer-level permanent magnets are also relevant for magnetic sensors, microactuators, medical devices, quantum technologies and automotive systems. Whatever your field, you can contact MagnetFab to evaluate the potential of integrated magnets in your architecture.
Your data is only used to answer your request, as described in our Privacy Policy. A non-disclosure agreement can be signed before any detailed technical exchange.
